Los Angeles, CA: The Executive
Council of the Shura Council of Southern California unanimously
re-elected Dr. Muzammil Siddiqi as its returning Chairman.
Imam Saadiq Saafir graciously accepted to serve as Vice Chairman
of the Shura Council.
Dr. Muzammil Siddiqi
expressed his gratitude for the community trust and stated
that he will continue to work in the spirit of brotherhood
and consultation. He also thanked all members of the Shura
Council and advised them to diligently serve the communities
for the pleasure of Allah.
Dr. Muzammil Siddiqi encouraged the communities to come forward
and support the Council. He also advised
that the Muslims of Southern
California and America at large must continue to build bridges
with neighbors and colleagues in the true spirit of humanity.
The Islamic Shura Council of Southern California is an independent
organization serving Muslims of Southern California since
1995. Its purpose is to provide a forum for all Islamic Centers,
Masajids, and Muslim organizations in Southern California.
The main purpose of the organization is to promote communications,
understanding, cooperation, and coordination among the leaders
representing Muslim communities in Southern California. There
are over 60 Islamic Centers, Masajids and Muslim organizations
in Southern California to serve thousands of Muslim communities.
It draws its spirit from the Divine injunctions of “working
together and conducting all matters with mutual consent”
(Quran 3:103 & 42:39).
