A Memorable Evening

Zafar Abbas and Javed Raza

A wonderful evening was arranged at the Cook Auditorium in Anaheim, California on January 22, 2005 by the Hollywood Bollywood Restaurant. The stage was beautifully arranged with colorful flowers and matching gold and red curtains. The show started at the right time which was of course a rare plus point.

Zafar Abbas, the bureau chief of Urdu Times, was the compere and did well. Javed Raza and Wajahat put life in the show by singing beautiful songs of the two Bollywood greats - Mohammad Rafi and Kishore Kumar.

The female singers were no less enterprising than the males and sang old and new songs from Indian movies to the delight of the appreciative crowd.

The audience was well behaved and manageable. Shiraz, president of the famous TV show " Tinsel Town " was there in the show too. Also, the presence of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Luna, the president of Superior Nissan and also one of the sponsors of the show, added to the gaiety of the occasion.

The tasty food was arranged by the Hollywood Bollywood Restaurant itself. The yummy smell of biryani, haleem and Vietnamese rice was felt from far, far away.

The evening was made even more enjoyable when Ambereen, a young medical student, presented a dance from the movie 'Saathiya' which was more than stunning. There were comedians too who added colors in the picture.
The evening came to an end with the presentation of gorgeous bouquets to Mr. And Mrs. Fred Luna, Javed Raza, Wajahat, Anisha Bakshi and Alka Bhatnagar. I must say that Ahmad Ali, Basit and Yasmin entertained the crowd a great deal by arranging this show, which was worth being a part of.
