Salamat Ali Khan’s Daughter to Perform on Aug 24

Riffat Sultana, daughter of legendary Pakistani singer Salamat Ali Khan, will perform at the JAPANESE AMERICAN NATIONAL MUSEUM (369 East First Street, Los Angeles, California 90012. Phone: 213 625-0414) on Thursday, August 24, 2006.
She will be joined by “an amazing lineup of musicians including Richard Michos (guitar), Manose Newa(flutes),Gurdip Singh (dholak), and Salar Nader (tabla)” acording to an announcement.
She is the first woman in her family to sing in public. Her Sufi presentation is sure to move your heart and soul. Admission is free.
The event has been sponsored, in part, by the City of Los Angeles, Los Angeles County Arts Commission, and the Irvine Foundation. Media sponsors include KFPK 90.7 FM and Downtown News.
