AMU Celebrations and Mushaira on Dec 16 in Bay Area

The Alumni of the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), one of the oldest and famous seats of learning in Asia, will celebrate Founder’s Day on December 16 on the occasion of the 189th birth anniversary of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan.
On this occasion, according to a press release, “AMU alumni in California are organizing the 8th Annual International Mushaira, along with dinner, at Mahran Restaurant in Newark at 6 pm. Featured guest poets from the Indian sub-continent include, Manzar Bhopali (India), Popular Meeruthi (India), Rehana Roohi (Pakistan), Khushbir Singh “Shaad” (India), and Jazib Quraishi (Pakistan). Several renowned poets of US will also participate in this Mushaira. The Guest of Honor and keynote speaker is Dr. Abidullah Ghazi, founder of Iqra Foundation, Chicago.
