PAL-C Board members with Ambassador Durrani

Washington, DC: Members of the Board of Directors of the Pakistani American Leadership Center (PAL-C) accompanied by the organization’s Executive Director Fauzia Tariq met Ambassador Durrani at the Embassy of Pakistan on July 5. The Board members included Mossadaq Chughtai, Pervaiz Lodhie and Rafiq Rahman and Regional Director Dr. Aquil ur Rehman.
The meeting was held to brief the Ambassador on PAL-C and the Pakistani-American community. Also present was the Head of Chancery, Mr. Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri.
The briefing focused on a wide array of topics ranging from a candid critique of the historical relationship between Pakistan and the United States, an introduction to the Pakistani diaspora in the States, and the role of PAL-C. The meeting would help have a closer rapport between the Pakistani-American community and the Embassy of Pakistan.
The Board emphasized the importance of PAL-C’s role as the only Pakistani organization with a day-to-day presence on Capitol Hill and as a liaison between the Pakistani-American community and the American political system.
Following the briefing a round table discussion was held during which Ambassador Durrani praised PAL-C and its mission to educate the Pakistani-American community to become more active in American politics. According to Executive Director Fauzia Tariq, “The briefing to the new Ambassador was very productive and well-received”. The deliberations yielded many insights on how PAL-C and the Embassy could work together to better represent Pakistan in the United States.
