A Highly Entertaining Movie

New York, NY: Marriages are full of surprises. And honeymoons can be quite an astonishing package themselves. Producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani team up with writer and director Reema Kagti to present the story of a motley group of six honeymooning couples. With a radio show, a tourist guide, a driver and a handyman woven into the hectic four-day honeymoon schedule, the movie humorously unfolds the different dimensions of love and human relationships along the couples’ journey from Bombay to Goa.
The well-thought out casting includes some of the most brilliant actors in filmdom. Boman Irani and Shabana Azmi play the out-of-place older couple from Mumbai that has recently discovered the meaning of life. Amisha Patel lives the role of a melodramatic wife while Karan Khanna plays the more reticent beau. KK and Raima Sen, the Bengali couple in a marriage ravaged by sexism, portray another element of marriage. Ranvir Shohrey bears upon himself the task of pleasing his wife, Dia Mirza, before they end their honeymoon. Abhay Deol and Minissha Lamba are wrapped in a cocoon of love, a fruit of their childhood affection, and nothing can ever mar this perfect relationship. Sandhaya Mridul and her NRI husband, Vikram Chatwal, met over the Internet and are now on their way to Goa to discover each other in person. As these six eclectic couples come together aboard the Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. omnibus, a hilarious sequence of events ensues with a valuable message in the end.
Acclaimed music directors Vishal and Shekhar of Bluffmaster and Salaam Namaste fame titillate listeners with another funky soundtrack replete with instrumentals and remix versions. “Jaane Hai Woh Kahan” sung by Shaan and Shreya Ghoshal is the slow track of the album that will go down as a classic. “Halke Halke” and its remixed counterpart, “Albela Albela” and “Sajnaji Vaari Vaari” bring to mind the freshness of the musical duo’s previous hits. “Pyaar Ki Yeh Kehna” adds a Latino touch to this diverse album.
