SANA Calls for Govt. Resignation

Houston, TX: The Sindhi Association of North America (SANA) is deeply shocked, grieved and outraged at the assassination of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and calls for the immediate resignation of the military dominated government, says a Press Release.
In a statement issued in Houston, TX, at the conclusion of an extraordinary teleconference of SANA members, a SANA spokesperson said that the organization members unequivocally and unanimously condemned the most horrific act of violence and terrorism that caused the country to lose its brightest and the most popular leader. The members expressed their utmost grief at the event terming it to be a great personal as well as national loss. They termed her death as the blackest day in the history of Sindh and Pakistan.
SANA spokesperson also called for an impartial inquiry into the assassination of the PPP leader. He said the inquiry should be either an international investigation or a judicial commission under the Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Choudhry with Justice Bhagwandas, Justice Khalil-ur-Rehman Ramday, Justice Sabihuddin and other judges as its members after the resignation of the present regime.
SANA said the present critical situation is the product of years of military rule in the country, involvement of secret agencies in the political affairs, and terrorism by political as well as religious groups. The situation will only deteriorate if the regime, its illegitimate caretaker governments in the center and the provinces, governors and manufactured local bodies didn’t quit immediately. The next casualty could be the country itself. SANA called upon the political parties to make a joint stand to demand an end to the military dictatorship.
