CAIR-CA Muslim Youth Leadership Conference at State Capitol  Anaheim, CA:  Beginning August 14, 2008, the California office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-CA) will hold its  4th Annual Muslim Youth Leadership and Empowerment Conference at the State Capitol in Sacramento. The conference, which will run from August 14-17, will feature workshops on community organizing and advocacy, public speaking and media activism. A highlight of the conference will be a 'Mock Legislature' session,  in which participants will serve as legislators as they debate public policy issues and prepare bills to be presented on the floor of the State Senate. Only 30 internships are available to eligible juniors and seniors in high school. Applicants may apply online at: ca.cair.com under the MYLP 2008 icon. Deadline to apply is July 15, 2008.
