COPAA Expresses Relief on Tariq Azizuddin’s Release

Los Angeles, CA:nhe Council of Pakistan American Affairs (COPAA), a Southern California based organization, has expressed “relief over the safe release of the Pakistani Ambassador to Afghanistan, Mr. Tariq Azizuddin” A COPAA Press Release states: A great friend of the Pakistani-American community, Mr. Azizuddin served as the Pakistani Consul General in Los Angeles from 1997-2000. During his captivity, while COPAA expressed solidarity with Mr. Azizuddinn's family, it continuously urged the Government of Pakistan to take all necessary steps to ensure his safe release.
“After the Pakistani Ambassador was released on May 17th, the jubilant Mrs. Azizuddin hailed  the efforts of the Government of Pakistan, individuals and several socio-political organizations, especially COPAA, for showing persistence in demanding  the  release of her husband.  COPAA congratulates the Pakistani authorities that secured the safe release of the Ambassador.”
