FOSA Literary Evening on August 29
By A.H. Cemendtaur

It was a Ramazdan day in 1947 when the British left South Asia, and the independent countries of Pakistan and India came into being.  Thus it is not surprising that this year Friends of South Asia (FOSA, www.friendsofsouthasia.org) is celebrating India and Pakistan’s independence in Ramadan by holding a literary evening on Saturday, August 29.

The program will be held at Glen Park Library, 2825 Diamond Street , San Francisco, between 1 and 5 pm.  Admission is free and anyone interested in listening to South Asian writings on ‘The Language of Food’, and meet South Asian writers and artists living in the Bay Area, is welcomed to attend the event.
