Email Account of Link's Chicago Bureau Chief Hacked by Nigerian Connection



Known broadcaster and journalist, President of Asian Broadcasting Network and Chicago Bureau Chief of Pakistan Link, Express News TV Pakistan's correspondent in Chicago Dr. Mujahid Ghazi's AOL account has been hacked by Nigerian Connection. Following email is sent to his thousands of contacts on AOL account.
"It's me, Mujahid. I really don't mean to inconvenience you with my email but am sorry, I made a little trip to UK, and I misplaced my luggage that contains my passport, cell phone, ticket and credit cards. I know this may sound odd, but it all happened very fast. I've been to the US embassy, they're willing to assist me fly without my passport but I'm out of cash, and I have to pay for my ticket. Please, can you lend me some funds right now? I'll be willing to pay you as soon as I get home.

"Please reply as soon as you get this message, so that I can forward you my details to send funds to me in England in other to get a ticket home.

"I await your response.

"Dr Mujahid Ghazi" Clicking on the details show that this email is generated by "Sender Address Domain - troy.hostgo.com" A similar attack was made on IQRA's Dr. Abidullah Ghazi's yahoo account couple of months ago. When a security consultant conducted research, the source of this criminal hacking pointed towards a Nigerian Connection. Dr. Mujahid Ghazi has been home all this time in Morton Grove Illinois, recovering from his H1N1 flu and pneumonia. He has requested his readers and contacts not to respond to this email and also inform the community to be aware of this spam. As he has been advised by the IT Security consultants people are asked to keep changing their password every month. It is best to use alphanumeric and signs like # $ incorporated in the password.
