Pakistan-American Community in Stockton Holds Eid Mela

On Sunday, December 14th, around 250 people from the Pakistani-American community in Stockton, California gathered with friends from the local community including several dignitaries to celebrate Eid-Al Adha  with tradition and a great deal of fanfare.  The venue at the Stockton Ballroom echoed with the voices and sounds from the two lands that give this community its identity.

the Pakistan region and Muslims from other parts of the world. The Pakistani American Association of San Joaquin County (PASS) has been busy engaging in outreach activity for a number of years now.  Pakistani-American Shabbir Khan (Treasurer/Tax Collector San Joaquin County),  Waqar Rizvi and others hosted Congressman Jerry McNerney, Senator 5th Assembly District Lois Walk, Mayor Elect of Stockton Ann Johnston at this event. Entertainer Alka Bhatnagar led the evening entertainment during which families, and especially children, had a great time.
