Khalid Irfan's 'No Problem' Launched at Impressive UWS Ceremony

Glimpses of Khalid Irfan’s book-launching ceremony at the Woodland Banquet Hall. ‘No Problem’ was launched under the auspices of the Urdu Writers Society

Anaheim, CA: The book-launching ceremony of 'No Problem', a collection of poetry of well-known poet Khalid  Irfan, took place at the Woodland Banquet Hall on December 20, 2008.
The largely attended ceremony was held under the auspices of the Urdu Writers Society (UWS), which has played an important role in the promotion of Urdu in North America.

Following a sumptuous dinner, the proceedings of the inaugural ceremony got underway with UWS President Irfan Murtaza welcoming lovers of Urdu and asking Mr Mohammad Ishaq, a popular community activist and businessman, to preside over the function. Asadullah Hussaini, a humorous poet, and Khalid Irfan, were the special guests of the evening.
Well-known Los Angeles-based poetess Asifa Nishat enlightened the gathering on the literary contributions of Khalid Irfan. She was followed by Urdu Times Bureau Chief Zafar Abbas who shed light on the poetry of Khalid Irfan.
The gathering was also addressed by Mr Mohammad Ishaq who commended the poetry of Khalid Irfan. He also  lauded the sustained efforts of the Urdu Writers Society in promoting Urdu in North America.
The gathering was visibly appreciative of the poetic work of Khalid and the sincere strivings that the Urdu Writers Society is making for the cause of Urdu in North America.
