PASAC Arranges Sheriff Baca’s Historic Visit to Pakistan

Los Angeles, CA: LA County Sheriff Leroy Baca accompanied by Mr. William McSweeney, Chief of Homeland Security LA County; Mr. Matt Wollman, Sheriff's Reserve Captain and Special Advisor to Sheriff Baca; Mr. Waqar Ali Khan, Chairman, Pakistan American Sheriff Advisory Council (PASAC); and Drs Asif Mahmood and Sohail Siddiqui, members, Board of Directors of PASAC,  visited  Pakistan during December 2008.  The Pakistan American Sheriff Advisory Council based in Los Angeles played a key role in coordinating the historic trip.
Sheriff Baca and members of his entourage met with President Asif Ali Zardari, Chairman Senate Mohammadmian Soomro, Chief Minister Nawab Sardar Rais Sani of Balochistan, Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat Ul Ibaad, members of the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, IG Punjab Police; IG Islamabad Police; and IG Sindh Police and Citizen Police of Karachi. Accompanied by senior government officials, Sheriff  Baca also visited the Wagha border.
Thanks to the painstaking efforts of Mr Waqar Ali Khan and Drs Asif Mahmood and Sohail Siddiqui the visit was a great success in initiating well-meaning collaborative programs between Pakistani police and their American counterparts to fight terrorism and crime.
