Consul General Expresses Gratitude for Contributions to Help the Dislocated People of Malakand

  The Consul General of Pakistan at Los Angeles Syed Ibne Abbas expresses gratitude for the support and generosity of friends and patrons. The Consulate to-date “ Alhamdulillah”, collected US $ 162,000 donations for the dislocated people of Malakand Division and other parts of the North West Frontier Province (NWFP). The amount of US $ 162,000 has already been transferred through the banking channels to the Prime Minister’s Special Fund for Victims of Terrorism, says a Press Release issued by the Pakistan Consulate General in Los Angeles. It adds:

The Consul General also thanks the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS), and Islamic Relief for arranging and sending relief goods to Pakistan.  He also appreciated the Council of Pakistan- American Affairs (COPAA), for arranging a fund raiser together with other community organizations, the Islamic Center of Northridge, Pakistani-American community of Inland Empire together with the Pakistani-American Chamber of Commerce, for their donations.

The Pakistani-American community on the West Coast donations are one of the highest worldwide. The Consul General recognizing the magnanimity of patrons and donors urges them to continue to help dislocated people who have become victims of terrorism.
