Author Nafisa Haji will be featured at a book-signing event at Borders Books on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 7 PM at 2339 Fair Oaks Blvd. Sacramento CA 95825Tel: 916-564-0168.
Nafisa is an American-born writer of Indo-Pakistani descent.
In her first novel she tells the story of Saira Qadar, an intelligent and rebellious young Muslim-American woman, who finds herself caught in a struggle between her immigrant family’s traditions and her desire for independence. Her book, “The Writing On My Forehead" also reflects on the history of a family caught up in the 1947 partition of India.
(The venue is located next to Sacramento ’s Mehran Restaurant).
