Consul Ahsan Wagan Completes Tenure

Mr. K. K. Ahsan Wagan, Consul, Consulate General of Pakistan, Los Angeles, has completed his tenure of service in the US and is being posted as Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Pakistan, Muscat, Oman. He is due to leave shortly.

The Council of Pakistan American Affairs (COPAA) hosted a farewell reception in his honor at the residence of the Council’s President, Mr. Adnan Khan, on August 20.

Another farewell reception was hosted in Consul Wagan's honor at the Diamond Bar Ashiana Restaurant on Friday, August 28, by the Council of Pakistan-American Chamber of Commerce (CPACC) and the Pakistan Sheriff Advisory Council.

The two receptions were attended by prominent members of the community.

Besides COPAA and CPACC, other organizations such as Islamic Relief USA, Pakistani American Arts Council, Karachi Club, Urdu Writers Society, Safeer-e-Pakistan, Overseas Pakistanis Organization and Pakistan Link presented shields and plaques and appreciation certificates to Mr Wagan.

Mr. Wagan joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1996. He worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from February 1997-October 2000 and September 2005-June 2006. He remained posted as Second Secretary in the Embassy of Pakistan, Kathmandu, Nepal from November 2000 to August 2004. He joined the Consulate General of Pakistan, Los Angeles, in June, 2006.

The Pakistani-American community in Los Angeles will miss Consul Ahsan Wagan. He will be remembered as an amiable, zestful diplomat who behaved with exemplary propriety and demonstrated a manifest sense of attachment for the community. He endeared himself to many community members by dint of his helpful disposition and unassuming nature.
