Tariq Hasan Enthralls Los Angeles Audience at Shahnawaz Restaurant

Glimpses of the musical evening arranged by the Urdu Cultural Society of Bakersfield at the Shahnawaz Restaurant in Lakewood on October 2

A musical evening was arranged by the Urdu Cultural Society of Bakersfield at the Shahnawaz Restaurant in Lakewood, Los Angeles on 2 October. Famous singer Tariq Hasan performed. He is the son of illustrious and famous singer Mehdi Hasan.

As the proceedings began Tariq was introduced by Khizer Masiha.

Tariq Hasan sang the ghazals of Faiz Ahmad Faiz and Ahmad Faraz which were also sung by his father Mehdi Hasan. Tariq is a gifted singer and gave quite a performance in imitating the style of singing of his father. He also sang many popular hits at the request of the audience. People enjoyed the music and clapped merrily. The musical evening continued into the early morning hours. The audience was served with a sumptuous dinner and hot tea enlivened the proceedings.
