McDonald’s Eid Gift for Saba Girls
By Nadia Seemi

On the eve of Eid, we all look forward to celebrating the special festival with our family and friends. It was thus only natural that Saba Trust decided to celebrate Eid this year with Saba Girls.

We planned different activities to make this Eid a special one for our Saba daughters. We do take our girls out on recreational activities so that they have fun and enjoy their hearts out at different places. The exhilarating experience adds to their outdoor experience and gives them confidence to face up to the outside world.

Given that onjective Saba Trust most of the time arranges different treats like hulwa poori and ice cream treats at Marbel Stone, one of the famous ice-cream parlors in Islamabad, sponsored by a good friend of ours Dr. Nadia and brother Imran. Every year, we take the girls out there three or four times.

For this Eid special we contacted multiple fast food chains like Pizza Hut, Kfc, and McDonald’s. We individually visited and had meetings with them. Out of all these, McDonald’s appeared most cooperative and finalized the arrangements with us for a treat for our daughters on the occasion of Eid.

Saba Trust staff including Ms. Nadia, Dr.Tehmina and Ms.Naheed, went to McDonald’s at their Scheme-III Branch location and had a meeting with their Branch Manager, Mr.Usman, who was duly furnished all relevant information about Saba Trust-Saba Homes (Orphanage). He was very cooperative and at once gave us the number of Mr. Arsalan, GM, McDonald’s Head Office in Lahore. I talked to him on phone and via email sent details of our Orphans-Saba Homes. He responded with due consideration and immediately arranged for the treat for our girls at McDonald’s.

McDonald's is the leading global foodservice retailer with more than 33,000 restaurants serving over 64 million people in 119 countries each day. It serves the world some of its favorite foods - world famous fries, Big Mac, Quarter Pounder, Chicken McNuggets and Egg McMuffin.

On Nov 9 th, 2011, the third day of Eid, Saba Trust staff along with Saba girls went to McDonald’s and enjoyed their special treat. Our daughters were so happy on having a rare blast of fun there. The food was fabulous; our little angels enjoyed spending time at McDonald’s.

Indisputably, McDonald’s added color to our little daughters’ Eid celebrations this year!!

We would like to thank Mr.Arsalan, Mr.Hilal, Mr. Usman and all members of the McDonald’s team on behalf of our 40 little angels for making this Eid special for our Saba daughters.

Thank you all for your generosity. May Allah (S.W.T.) bless you and reward you.
