CAIR-LA Invites You to a Private Screening of ‘Mooz-lum’

Anaheim , CA : The CAIR-Greater Los Angeles Area office invites you to a private screening of the award-winning film "Mooz-lum," a real life story of an American Muslim youth, says an email message. It adds:

The film, scheduled for release later this month, follows the story of a young Muslim man as he enters college. New relationships with Muslims as well as those of other faiths challenge his ideals. After the 9/11 attacks, he is forced to face his past and make some of the biggest decisions of his life.

The film's cast includes actors Evan Ross, Nia Long, Roger Guenveur Smith and Danny Glover.  

"Mooz-lum" won best narrative feature at Urbanworld 2010 film festival and was an official selection at Chicago International Film Festival and Cairo International Film Festival this year.

Dana Offenbach, Producer of 'Mooz-lum,' said in an exclusive statement: "In these troubled times, as a person who does not accept religious intolerance, I am grateful to have the opportunity to bring our beautiful film to an audience who will surely embrace it." 
CAIR-LA Communications Manager Munira Syeda added: "It is important for the American Muslim community to provide support to emerging Muslim artists and to continue bridging the gap between Hollywood and American Muslims."
Note to parents with children: 'Mooz-lum' is rated PG-13 for minor violence and scenes of alcohol use and kissing.
