Jeewanjee-Rahman Wedding in San Francico Bay Area
Zainab Batool Jeewanjee and Nadir Rahman were married recently with a series of delightful events held in the San Francisco Bay area over four days, from July 14th through July 17th. Zainab is the daughter of Zain and Farzana Jewanjee, long time residents of the San Jose area and Nadir is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Faridur Rahman of Karachi.
Zainab is studying US Foreign and Security Policy at the University of Denver while Nadir is a working engineer who studied at Karachi Grammar School, MIT and UC Berkeley. To kick things off a dholki was held at a private residence in San Jose on July 14th. Over 250 people attended the mehndi (henna) ceremony on Friday, July 15th, in San Ramon at the Bridges Golf Club. Zainab and Nadir’s nikah was performed by Dr. Khalid Siddiqi at the Jeewanjee residence in Almaden on Saturday, July 16th.
And the grand closing wedding reception on Sunday, July 17th, attended by over 300 people was a very elegant affair also held at the Bridges Golf Club in San Ramon. An outdoor ceremony was conducted by Khalid Siddiqui before the formal reception during which the verbal vows exchanged by Zainab and Nadir were very well received. Many prominent people were in attendance to wish the happy couple their best including members of former President Pervez Musharraf’s family.
