Fatimid Foundation Fundraiser in Lexington

Lexington, Massachusetts: A fundraiser for the FATIMID Foundation headquartered in Karachi was held October 8th at the Lexington, Massachusetts home of Hasan and Dr. Naheed Usmani.

The Chairman, Lt. Gen. Moinuddin Haider, made a presentation to the Boston area Pakistani-American community highlighting the wonderful work being done by the foundation.

It is the largest blood bank in the   private NGO sector.   Through its centers in Karachi, Hyderabad, Tando Allahyar, Multan, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta , FATIMID provides hope  to 11,000+ children suffering from thalassemia, hemophilia and other blood disorders.  They transfuse over 7,500 units of healthy and screened blood products every month.   Most receive it free.

FATIMID is on a fund-raising tour due to the increase in number of such chronically ill patients.

A Sponsor-a-Child scheme has been devised   A monthly contribution of only $25 a month or   $300 per child per year makes you a sponsor for a specific child.   The presentation was very well received.

Many in the audience were physicians. Dr Khalil A. Khatri, President of the Association of Pakistani Physicians in New England was also present. Hon. Consul General Barry D Hoffman, who was among the audience, said FATIMID was a very, very worthwhile charity deserving everybody's support.
