Urdu Markaz International to Hold Literary Event on April 21

 

Urdu Markaz International Los Angeles is organizing a literary event on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Momin Lodge (1918 Artesia Blvd. Torrance, CA 90504).

Dinner will be served between 7:30 and 8:30 pm sharp. The event will start after dinner with short speeches  by Khwaja Ashraf from San Francisco, Majid Akhtar, and other prominent scholars, who will pay tribute to Allama Iqbal on his death anniversary. The speeches will be followed by a Mazahia Mushaira. The guest poets who will present their kalam on the occasion will be Khalid Irfan from New York, Farooq  Taraz from San Francisco, Sheikh Maqbool Ahmed from Salt Lake City and Ejaz Hussain from New Jersey. A few selected local poets will also present their kalam.

"We are sure that this event will provide a few hours of nice relaxation from the frustration and stress these days. Please do spare some time and come to the Mushaira to quench your thirst for poetry and get a real enjoyment," an Urdu Markaz official said in a message.
