Shura Council’s Appeal to Help Rebuild Joplin Mosque

Anaheim, CA: The Islamic Shura Council urges Muslims to respond the call from the Islamic Society of Joplin to rebuild their Mosque that was burned down recently in suspected arson. The Mosque had played a central role for the Muslim community from as far as 50 miles from Joplin serving both Muslims and the community at large. During tornados, the Joplin Mosque served as a hub for Muslim relief workers serving Missourians in rebuilding their lives, says a Shura Council message. It adds:

While the investigation continues, the Joplin community has called for help to rebuild their Mosque. “It is our collective responsibility to respond positively and now,” said Dr. Muzammil Siddiqi, the Chairman of the Shura Council. He further added that “there cannot be a better time than the last ten days of Ramadan for Muslims in Southern California to demonstrate their solidarity with the Muslims in Joplin.”
