Ambassador Munter Meets COPAA Board Members

The Council of Pakistan American Affairs (COPAA) hosted a meeting with the outgoing US Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr. Cameron Munter on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Hilton Hotel in Pasadena, California, says a Press Release. It adds: COPAA is thankful to Mr. Ambassador that despite his busy schedule he agreed to meet with members of the COPAA Board and advisors and a few select community members. COPAA has been in the forefront of Pakistan-US relations and by hosting this event the Association has further furnished proof of COPAA’s role in this area.

In the absence of COPAA President Adnan Khan who was attending a dinner with President Obama, the meeting was ably led by the Executive Vice President Mr. Ismail Keekeebhai. He laid out pertinent issues and observations for the Ambassador to address. Ambassador Munter responded to the queries and took several questions from the audience. He also shared some of the experiences that he and his lovely wife Marilyn have had with ordinary Pakistanis.

The meeting lasted over 75 minutes. As the meeting came to an end, the audience had just begun to realize the magnitude of the void that the departure of Mr. Cameron would create.
