Congressman Howard L. Berman Meets Community Leaders

Los Angeles, CA: Congressman Howard L. Berman, Ranking Member on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, held a meeting with Asian-Americans Pacific Islanders, including leaders of the Pakistani-American community in Los Angeles, California.

Mr Adnan Khan, President of the Council of Pakistan American Affairs (COPAA), asked the Congressman about the sovereignty of Pakistan and its borders. The Congressman assured the COPAA President that the United States supports Pakistan’s territorial integrity and security.

The Congressman stated that he looks forward to stabilizing the relationship with Pakistan and moving forward to boost the country’s textile exports to help the economy of Pakistan. The Congressman informed the leaders of Pakistani origin that he would like to hold meetings with the Pakistani-Americans living in the United States and dispel misunderstandings that have arisen between the two friendly countries.

The meeting was attended by Congressman Howard Berman, COPAA President Adnan Khan, Metals & More Incorporated and Pakistan Link CEO Arif Mansuri, CEO EtchLite Technology Arshad Kazmi and Professor Dr. Baizhu Chen who represented the Chinese-Americans.
