Groundbreaking Event on Trans-Atlantic Muslim Relations in DC

 

Washington, DC: The Muslim Public Affairs Council will be hosting a groundbreaking event on “Trans-Atlantic Relations Between US & European Muslims” on Friday, May 11, in Washington, DC. The event will bring together business, civil society and political leaders to discuss how they can work together to build a robust partnership, healthy communities and strong civil societies in the US and Europe.

The event will include dinner and a keynote address from Joshua Foust of the American Security Project followed by a panel discussion focused on how American and British Muslim communities can work toward better partnerships in the areas of organizational development, Islam in the public square and national security.

The panel will be moderated by Haris Tarin, Director of MPAC’s Washington, DC, office and include the following panelists:

  • Mehdi Hasan – Senior Political Editor, New Statesman
  • Hussein Kanji – Partner Hostun Ventures, UK
  • Sonia Klien – Political Director, Veterans for National Security Foundation
  • Adam Such – Former. Deputy Commanding Officer, 5th Special Forces Group

The diverse panel of speakers will explore the intersections between nonprofits, businesses and governments and how they can ensure that dynamic relationships are formed to address the needs of communities.
