With the change of the climate came a White Mughal Evening. Niswa, presented their Annual Gala Event, themed A White Mughal Evening. It featured musical guest, the talented Sufi Artist Ustade Maa Zila Khan whose performance was the highlight of the evening. This elegant event took place in the Hayatt Regency Hotel in Orange County. It was quite a sight to see all of the guests in white adornments that matched the theme of the banquet style dinner. The evening was full of music, festivities, and awareness about the organization, along with information about the types of non-profit work that Niswa is known for. All of the proceeds for the event went directly to Niswa to support all of the community projects that they partake in.

Niswa has been serving the community since 1990. It is a non-profit organization helping women in crisis as well as children in underserved communities. Based in Los Angeles County, Niswa is a Muslim Women’s organization that strives to help community members with domestic issues, adoption and foster care for children, education via health fairs and seminars and emergency aid to community members. They have a large nationwide network that allows them to work with other organizations that are striving for the same goal among the United States. The existence of such groups is vital for the advancement of not only the Muslim American Community but also the growth of a stable society as a whole.
