9/11 Victims Remembered by Pakistani Americans

At a mammoth Pakistani-American gathering in Exposition Park on Saturday, September 8th, 2012, more than 20,000 Pakistani Americans assembled to celebrate the independence Day of Pakistan.

Joined by Sheriff Lee Baca, LAPD’s Community Outreach Team, FBI Outreach officers, Congresswoman Judy Chu, Congresswoman Maxine Waters, Councilman Eric Garcetti, and candidate for LA Mayor, Wendy Greuel, the crowd stood still to honor and remember the tragedy of September 11th. More than a decade after 9/11, Americans stand stronger, united, and more resilient than before, says a COPAA statement.

As we remember the victims of 9/11, we also salute the almost two million brave men and women in uniform that serve our country every day. Their commitment and dedication to duty is what is making us inch closer toward peace, the statement added.
