Tasawar Khan Takes over as Consul General

 

Los Angeles, CA: Mr Tasawar Khan has taken over as Consul General of Pakistan in Los Angeles.

He holds a Master’s degree in International Diplomatic Studies from the University of London, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor’s degree in General and Defense Studies from the University of Peshawar, Pakistan.

He has held several important assignments before taking over as Consul General, Los Angeles. He served with great distinction as Deputy High Commissioner,

High Commission for Pakistan, Canberra; Director General (Middle East), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad; Counselor/Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Pakistan, Harare, Zimbabwe; First Secretary/Head of Chancery, Embassy of Pakistan, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Director (South East Asia Pacific) and Director (Europe-III), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad; etc.

He has attended several international conferences including SAARC Summit 1990, World Urdu Conference 1991, Pakistan Envoys Conference 1994, Extraordinary Islamic Summit 1997, Pakistan Envoys Conference on Trade and Investment 2005, Pakistan Envoys Conference 2006, World Economic Forum 2007, 34th Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers 2007, and 8th Partnership Program for Diplomats, Seoul, South Korea.

He has several research papers to his credit and is fluent in English, Urdu and Punjabi. He is married and has four children.
