SF Bay Area Community Celebrates Eid Milad-un-Nabi

The San Francisco Bay Area community celebrated the birthday of the Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) with great enthusiasm and reverence. An Eid Milad-un-Nabi gathering was held on February 9 at the Mehran Restaurant, Newark CA. It was perhaps the largest such event in the Bay Area that was attended by about 250 people.

The Milad, sponsored by Mohibban-e-Syed Peer Kamaluddin Geelani (the followers of Syed Peer Kamaluddin Geelani) included presentation of hamds, naats and speeches about the life of the Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

The program, which began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Qari Amar Billa, was well organized. Religious speeches were interspersed with Naatkhwani.

Mujibullah Khan was the master of ceremony.

Mujahid Khan was the first speaker who talked about Peer Kamaluddin Geelani.

Ali, Emmad, Matt, Mubashir, Owais, Umair, Usman, Uzair presented hamd.

Ali A. Khan, Mubashir Ebteda, Osman, Owais Sarfaraz and Uzair Khan presented Naats in their melodious voices.

Mathew Fortson delivered a very informative speech about science and the Holy Qur’an.

Ahsan Hamdani, Mobeen Iqbal, Ali, Emmad, Matt, Mubashir, Owais, Umair, Usman and Uzair also presented Naats.

Ali, Emmad, Matt, Mubashir, Owais, Umair, Usman and Uzair presented Burda Sharif.

Faridun Mojadedi and Ustaad Ali Atai delivered speeches on ethics in Islam.


Sadia, Atia, Fauzia, Wasia, Qudsia and Samia presented a popular naat, ‘Mohammad Sayya'de Konain’.

Syed Mohiuddin Qadri, the main speaker at the event, specially flew from Chicago. He observed that our Prophet’s life is a model which every Muslim should try to emulate.

At the end traditional Salam was recited by the audience. Molana Zubair Naqshbandia led the salam.

Food was served after the salam.

Display of the Holy Hair of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) was another feature of the Eid Milad-un-Nabi event. The Holy Hair was brought by Syed Mohiuddin Qadri whose family is the custodian of the holy relic.
