A Resolution for Religious Tolerance

Dr Talat Khan, a prominent community activist whose sustained strivings mark the involvement of Muslims in the American political system to make their voices heard, participated in the Convention of the Democratic Party held at Milbrae, California from November 16-18th.

According to her, a resolution on religious tolerance was passed at the convention. In that resolution - Number 12-11-03 - the California Democratic Party condemned all forms of intolerance and hatred directed at religious groups. The resolution was sent to all California Democratic Party representatives and elected officials in California and will be part of the effort to prevent illegal discrimination and hate crimes against all people.

The Arab American Caucus also forwarded a resolution, which was going to be sent to President Obama by The California Democratic Party, and calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. It was supported by The Peace Academy and some Democratic National Council members.
