Yakoob Dada Passes away

Mr Yakoob K Dada, a well-known member of the community and owner of Dada Tours And Travels Ltd., passed away on Sunday, January 5. Inna Lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un. His namaz e janaza was held on January 6 at the Islamic Center of Orange County and he was later laid to rest in the Westminster Memorial Park.

The news of Mr Dada's death came as a stunning shock to all and sundry in the community. Only a few weeks back - on November 20, 2013, to be precise - he had organized a qawwali program featuring Amjad Sabri and his group in Los Angeles. He had a marked penchant for organizing such shows and had earlier organized highly successful programs featuring Lata, Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Sabri Brothers. Thanks to his unflinching dedication and hard work his travel agency too came to be highly rated and earned a name for its dedicated service to the community.

Mr Dada was born in Karachi on Nov 14, 1953. He studied at the St Patrick's College where he prominently figured in extra-curricular activities: he was elected vice-president of the students union. In 1973, he moved to the United States and studied at the USC. Eight years later, he founded Dada Tours And Travels Ltd. and ran it successfully.

He will be missed not only by his family and close relatives but by many friends and associates in the community who admired him profusely. May his soul rest in peace and God grant the bereaved family courage and fortitude to bear the loss. (Ameen). Pakistan Link shares the family's pain and grief.
