May Allah rest his departed soul in eternal peace in Jannah and give his entire family the fortitude and courage to bear the monumental loss.
Wasif A. Siddiqui was married to his loving wife of 47 years Tasneem Siddiqui and is survived by daughters Asra married to Faiyaz, Ambreen married to Adnan, Eram married to Anees and five beautiful grandchildren -- Rayhan, Anaya, Adam, Ayden and Raif. For the last fifty years, Br Wasif Siddiqui had been a very active member of the Muslim community of Southern California. In the early 1970's, he played an important role in the establishment of the Pakistan American Association which was instrumental in exposing the role played by the then Indian Prime Minister, Indra Gandhi in the 1971 war which resulted in the breakup of Pakistan. In 1982, Br WasifSiddiqui together with Br. Mazaher Sheikh signed and submitted Articles of Incorporation to the Secretary of State of California to establish the Islamic Center of San Gabriel Valley which has since become the third largest Islamic Center in Southern California. In 1999, Br WasifSiddiqui was elected and served as the President of the Islamic Center of San Gabriel Valley.
Funeral prayers for Br. Wasif Siddiqui were held on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 after the Dhuhr prayers at the Islamic Center of San Gabriel Valley. He was laid to rest in the Westminister Memorial Park, Westminister, CA. May his soul rest in peace. (Ameen).
