Pak flag will never fall down: Khwaja Saaed Rafique

LAHORE: Minister for Railways, Khwaja Saad Rafique Monday noted that holding talks with the insurgents was not an easy task and pledged that Pakistan’s flag will never fall down.

“There will be many hurdles in the way but we will have to exercise patience,” he cautioned while talking to media persons at an inaugural ceremony of a bank here.

He said all out efforts will be made to bring the situation of Balochistan under control and that ‘flawed policies of the past’ turned many tribal areas into the strongholds of outlaws.

Saad Rafique said grievances of Baloch leader Akhtar Mengal must be lent a keen ear.

He said the government intended to work together with the new elected government of Afghanistan.

Pakistan government, he said, was also keeping a close eye on Indian elections. “Let’s see what kind of government the secular people of India elect for themselves,” he added.

On a question relating to former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf, he said the matter has already been discussed a lot. It is not the most pressing issue for Pakistan, he added.
