President stresses national harmony to foil ‘nefarious designs’

QUETTA: President Mamnoon Hussain on Wednesday stressed promoting national harmony and close association among provinces in order to foil nefarious designs against the country. “We, the Pakistanis, living in all federating units are brothers of each other and have to play our due role to make the country most respectable and developed among other countries of the world,” he said while talking to journalists at the Governor’s House. President Mamnoon said the country was facing challenges of terrorism and economy but that the government would steer it out of all crises. “The major need of the hour is to curb terrorism and restore peace in the country because no foreign or local investment could be attracted without restoration of peace and maintenance of the law and order,” he said. He said that talks with the Taliban were underway and that these talks would bear fruit. “All the issues that emerge across the world are resolved through dialogue and force is used as the last option when dialogue fails,” the president said. He said that there was need to take steps to bring improvement in economy and added that better economy puts the country on track of development.
