LAHORE: Canada-Pakistan Chamber Of Commerce (CPCoC) president Mehreen Javaid, who is on a visit to Pakistan to promote relationship between the two countries in the various sectors, on Saturday called on Dr Miftah Ismail, the prime minister’s special assistant and Board of Investment chairman. Based in Toronto, the CPCoC was set up in 2012, with the aim to create strategic partnerships in development between the two countries. It has initially focused on the mining, textile and agriculture sectors. During the meeting, arrangements for the 2015 Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) – an annual event for the mining sector established in 1932 – were discussed to ensure that Pakistan was well represented at this global convention. Mehreen Javaid, who was accompanied by Canadian Trade Commissioner Denis Chouinard, invited the BOI chairman to lead the delegation in March 2015 to Toronto.
