PPP seeks list of released Taliban prisoners

SUKKAR: Pakistan People’s Party leader and opposition leader in National Assembly Khursheed Shah has sought list of Taliban prisoners released by the government. “Releasing Taliban prisoners is job of judiciary rather than government. Government should provide us list of the released prisoners,” he told journalists on Saturday. Shah stressed that government should have talked to Taliban about release of Shahbaz Taseer and Ali Haider Gilani. He said the recent meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and former president Asif Zardari is a ‘routine matter’. This has nothing to do with recent statement of army chief, he clarified. The opposition leader said that reports about change of Sindh chief minister are ‘wrong and baseless’. “Either MQM comes into government or someone else, our doors are open to all,” he said. The PPP will stand in the frontline for the cause of fortification of democracy, he added.
