Online

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak warned on Tuesday that the “third unseen power” can take benefit of the suspension of peace negotiations and end of ceasefire between the government and Taliban. He was presiding over a high-level meeting over the law and order situation, at the CM Secretariat on Tuesday. On this occasion, a delegation of the trader and industrialist community briefed the chief minister regarding their problems and demands relating to lawlessness and extortion. The chief minister assured redressal of their problems on priority basis. To this end he ordered result-oriented steps under an organised strategy. On the longstanding demand of the trade and industrialist communities, the chief minister approved the establishment of a modern police station in Hayatabad Industrial Estate and deployment of additional platoons of police and Frontier Constabulary (FC) in the whole area. Terming the decade-long lawlessness as basic reason of these crimes, he stressed collective efforts to guarantee security in the province, and said that durable peace is the only way forward towards economic uplift.
