Proposal for constitution of NFC forwarded to president

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar has forwarded a proposal to the president through the prime minister for the constitution of the 9th National Finance Commission (NFC).

The matter of the proposal was pending as the Government of Sindh was deliberating on the name of its nominee, according to a press release issued by the Finance Ministry here on Tuesday.

The Sindh government has now decided to nominate Saleem H Mandviwala as its member.

The other provinces have already nominated their members two months ago. Besides Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar and four provincial finance ministers, the other members are Ayesha Ghous Pasha from Punjab, professor M Ibrahim Khan from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kaiser Bengali from Balochistan.
