Formation of JC defining moment in political history: Qureshi

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Thursday said that formation of Judicial Commission (JC) was a key defining moment in the political history of Pakistan.

The ruling Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) and PTI on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to constitute a Judicial Commission that will investigate allegations of rigging in the 2013 general elections. In a statement he said, “this historical move would provide the road map for independent, free and fair elections in Pakistan”. He said that findings of the commission investigation into the alleged rigging of 2013 polls would help introduce reforms in the electoral process. “PTI wanted to constitute a judicial commission to probe into poll rigging allegations so that lesson could be learnt”.
