PTI will present proof of rigging to judicial commission: Imran

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan spoke to reporters after the session of Parliament was adjourned till 5 PM.

The PTI chairman sarcastically thanked the welcome given to his party members by some lawmakers of the PML-N. Khan asked them if there should be a probe into election rigging or not.

Khan added that the formation of the judicial commission to probe election rigging would be of benefit to democracy. 'We returned to the assembly after the judicial commission was formed."

The PTI chief stressed that all parties had admitted that rigging had taken place during the 2013 general elections.

“If all parties are saying that rigging took place, how is the election not fake, how is the Parliament not fake?”

“Elections in the future will be free and fair if the probe proves rigging,” Khan said. He added that the PTI had proof of rigging which would be presented before the judicial commission.

Imran Khan and lawmakers from his party returned to Parliament after seven months to attend Monday’s joint-session on the crisis in Yemen.

In August 2014, PTI MNAs had resigned from the NA in protest against alleged rigging in the 2013 general elections.
