Gilani opposes involvement in Yemen war

KARACHI – Former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Wednesday said that Pakistan should not become part of Yemen war.

Talking to journalists here, he said that the parliament would decide about Pakistan's involvement in Yemen conflict. “Pakistan should not become part of Yemen war however, troops can be sent to protect Holy Shrines,” he said. The former PM said that the country's situation is already not good and it cannot afford to be dragged into another war.

He said that diplomatic channel should be used in this crisis. Answering a question about the Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto's reservations with other party leaders, Gilani said that these are only rumors and the party is united.
