SC adjourns Asghar Khan case for one month

ISLAMABAD – The Supreme Court on Wednesday adjourned hearing of the Asghar Khan case for one month while federation has also taken back the review petition seeking to mull the decision in this case.

The three-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Jawwad S Khawaja comprising Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and Justice Mushir Alam resumed hearing of the petitions under Article 184 over distribution of crores of rupees among the politicians.

During the course of proceedings, the additional attorney general appeared before the bench and stated that the federal government had been changed and the current federal government does not want to proceed this case as it has also withdrawn its plea to mull the decision.

Former DG ISI Asad Durrani appeared before the bench and sought more time to hire a counsel. “I have talked to three lawyers for my case but they refused to appear in this case,” he added. The court directed Lt General (r) Asad Durrani to hire lawyer and adjourned hearing of the case for one month.
