ECP decides to hold NA-246 by polls under Rangers
ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday decided to conduct the upcoming by election in NA-246 Constituency under the supervision of Rangers.
According to ECP, the Incharge of Rangers personnel will be laced with powers of the First Civil Magistrate at each polling station during the election day of April 23.
The political temperature is already touching a peak in Karachi ahead of the by election that is still a couple of weeks away.
Electioneering is being actively carried out by Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for NA-246 – the National Assembly seat that had been vacated by Nabil Gabol a few months ago.
Shah Mehmood Qurshi lauds ECP’s decision
Upon getting the news of Rangers deployment during the forthcoming by election, PTI Vice Chairman, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, while speaking at Geo News program ‘Capital Talk’, lauded this decision of the ECP.
