Imran's attitude damaged Pakistan's image: Saad

LAHORE – Pakistan Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique on Tuesday said that immature and inflexible attitude of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan had damaged the democratic perspectives in Pakistan.

Talking to journalists after inaugurating newly rehabilitated rake of Hazara Express here at Railway Station, he alleged that Imran Khan's ego was bigger than the entire electoral process and even the country. It was Imran Khan's stubborness due to which the government had to form judicial commission, he said and added that irregularities at lower level could not be considered as rigging.

He said that sit-ins staged by the PTI had damaged the image of Pakistan abroad. To a question, the minister said that Pakistan was a sovereign country and other countries should respect its sovereignty as it honours others. He said that neutral role on Yemen conflict was not the decision of the government but it was decision of the parliament and the nation. Every Pakistani emotionally attached with Harmain Shareefain and ready to sacrifice in case of any threat to Saudi Arabia.

He said that the country was trying to resolve Yemen issue with the support of other countries like Turkey as a mediator. The minister was of the view that there was no doubt Saudi Arabia helped Pakistan in every hard time and he cleared that Pakistan would never leave Saudi Arabia alone. To a question about the statement of UAE minister, he said that there was no need to react on such statements as it was unofficial and only foreign office of any country could give policy statement.

Responding a question about Karachi operation, he said the operation was not conducted against any political party including the Muttahida Quami Movement and it was just against the criminals.
