Security plan for Karachi by-poll devised
KARACHI: The police have devised a security plan for the upcoming by-elections in the National Assembly Constituency NA-246 as authorities fear clashes between political parties.
According to the security plan, 7,300 policemen will be deployed throughout the constituency as all the polling stations have been declared sensitive for the April 23 by-poll.
202 police vehicles will also be deployed on the day of polling to avert any untoward incident.
Sources told Geo News that 10 armed personnel carriers (APCs) and as many bullet proof vehicles will also be part of the security measures.
They said thousands of reserved policemen would be on stand-by position on the polling day.
