Imran Khan to take up issue of Panama Papers in NA

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan on Wednesday said he would take up the issue of Panama Papers leak in the National Assembly on Thursday.

“Panama Papers is an important issue. I will discuss it in detail in the (National) Assembly,” Imran Khan said while talking to media men here.

He said no one is going to accept the judicial commission constituted by the Prime Minister under a retired judge of the Supreme Court.

The PTI Chairman said they invest in offshore companies but fail to take the nation into confidence over the mode of transfer of funds.

“I can’t help thinking about the D-Chowk. But, this time the sit-in may not have to be as long as it was the last time,” he warned.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced to constitute a judicial commission in his televised speech on Tuesday in response to allegations based on Panama Papers leak. The leak showed that the PM daughter Maryam Nawaz and sons Hassan and Hussain Nawaz own offshore companies in British Virgin Islands.
