Panama leaks Petition seeking proceedings against PM filed

LAHORE: Justice Shahid Waheed of Lahore High Court on Tuesday issued notices to the federal government and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on petition moved on behalf of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, requesting to initiate proceedings against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for his alleged involvement in establishing offshore companies and concealing facts from the public. The judge directed both the respondents to file their replies till April 14. Petitioner counsel Ishtiaq Chaudhary stated that PM concealed his assets while submitting his nomination papers for elections. He stated that PM Sharif also did not show assets of his family members. He said that it was violation of the election laws, adding that PM provided wrong information in his nomination papers and it was violation of the constitution. He requested the court to order NAB to launch inquiry against PM about his illegal money.
