Abdul Sattar Edhi discharged from SIUT

KARACHI: Internationally known welfare worker, Abdul Sattar Edhi, whose kidneys have failed, underwent dialysis at Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) here on Saturday and was discharged later.

According to spokesman Edhi Welfare Trust, Abdul Sattar Edhi’s body temperature shot up and he had to be shifted to SIUT earlier today. He was examined by doctors and later discharged following a dialysis session.

Dr Adeeb Rizvi of SIUT said all possible health care facilities including dialysis are being provided to the great welfare worker.

He said Edhi is put through dialysis twice a week as his kidneys have stopped functioning. “Edhi has grown weak due to the ailment. However, all possible steps are being taken for his recovery,” he added.
